About this Program

In the pre-Christian counseling track in religion, students develop skills for leading counseling ministry within the local church or a professional setting.

This counseling certificate track allows students to experience a combination of classroom work and practical application as it prepares them to continue an academic pursuit of counseling for ministry.

The School of Christian Studies’s pre-Christian counseling program requires 33 hours in religion courses; it also requires a second major in psychology. The degree is designed to prepare students for graduate school.


The Pre-Christian Counseling Religion track requires 33 semester hours, plus a second major in psychology. *Six hours are included in the general education core curriculum.
