About this Program

Students seeking a bachelor's degree in psychology will receive an education aligned with recommendations from the American Psychological Association.  This well-rounded program introduces students to a variety of courses that emphasize practical knowledge and vocational opportunities.

In the BA in psychology degree students participate in practicum courses and classes like Intro to Professional Psychology, which allow them to visit sites where counseling takes place and to observe licensed counselors with private practices.

Along with the core curriculum, students should expect a degree plan which requires 33 hours in their major field of study, 27 of which must be upper-division. A maintained major GPA of at least a 3.0 will allow for automatic admission into the M.A. in Counseling program.

A Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology requires 124 semester hours. A total of 34 hours in psychology are required, 27 must be upper-level.
