About this Program

Students interested in the complexities of government can choose to complement their major with a political science minor. With a focus on Western political practices, the political science minor explores varying facets of government, such as the Constitution and presidency, while also exploring topics such as civil rights and political behavior.

The political science minor requires 18 hours of study, 12 of which must be upper level. This will fulfill the university’s minor requirement.

The political science minor will study the varying levels of government as they fulfill their minor requirement. Students can expect to take courses such as State and Local Government, American Constitutional Law, and The Presidency.

Requirements

The minor requires 18 semester hours, of which 12 must be upper-level. *Three hours are included in the general education core curriculum.
