About this Program

The legal studies specialization within the administration of justice degree, is best suited for students wishing to pursue a career working in a police department, sheriff’s office, or local, state, or federal law enforcement agency.

The program takes a unique angle on the administration of justice degree through specialized studies. Courses include Administration of Justice, Preparation for Law School, Criminal Law, and many others.

Students participating in this program are also offered a wide range of hybrid classes, which allows them to complete coursework online and face-to-face while on campus. Students seeking an administration of justice degree, law enforcement specialization, must complete 30 semester hours in their major field, of which 24 must be upper-level credit.

Requirements

The Bachelor of Arts in Justice Administration, Legal  Studies Specialization requires 124 course hours. 30 hours of Justice Administration Law Enforcement courses are required.

Organizations - JASA--Justice Administration Student Association

  • The Justice Administration Student Association is a student organization which strives to promote academic awareness of Justice Administration students, pre-law students, and students interested in related academic fields of study.
  • Students assist in the networking of information related to criminal justice career opportunities, organize educational experiences (trips, lectures, tours, etc.), and participate in career, academic, and social activities.
  • To qualify, students must be justice administration majors or minors, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0.
