Bachelor of Applied Science, B.A.S.

Overview

Military and civilian students alike choose the Bachelor of Applied Science at Wayland because of its immense flexibility. Courses and programs are available both online and face-to-face, and the WBU external campuses offer four, 11-week terms each year.

Students can earn up to 12 credit hours for qualified work experience and training, and they can learn in a positive, faith-based environment. Wayland even works to accommodate the difficulties of obtaining transcripts by offering a grace term, which allows students to begin coursework before being granted formal acceptance in some instances.

Our United States service men and women are welcome at Wayland, with many campuses located on or near military bases. We have been designated a Military Friendly School by Victory Media, an honor only bestowed upon the top 15 percent of universities, colleges, and trades schools “doing the most to embrace military students, and to dedicate resources to ensure their success in the classroom and after graduation.” Military Friendly School

WBU recognizes that education occurs in many places, even outside the classroom. The Bachelor of Applied Science is an accredited degree completion program which allots up to 12 credit hours for approved work experience with additional credit possible for formal training, such as the completion of any Texas police academy program.

Below are the majors available for the B.A.S. degree.  However, there are many more majors available.  Wayland constructs a degree plan just for you using  your technical or military training.

Requirements

The B.A.S. required 124 semester hours.  Credit is given for technical or military training, and work experience.   36 semester hours are required for the  major program.  18 hours must be upper-level hours.
