Web Developer

LOCATION: Wayland Baptist University (WBU) – Plainview Campus

DEPARTMENT: Marketing and Communications 

SUPERVISED BY: Executive Director of Marketing

POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Student workers

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Builds, manages and maintains university website. Other duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:

  • Manages university’s main website using Cascade CMS. Previous Hannon Hill product experience a plus.
  • Provide website and CMS support service to internal clients. Experience with a support ticketing service a plus.
  • Maintain CMS documentation and training.
  • Fluent in HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Knowledgeable in Front End development best practices.
  • Maintains a professional understanding of web development by tracking trends and participating in online groups.
  • Experience with Foundation, Bootstrap, jQuery, JSON, API a plus.
  • Execute Wayland’s Website Roadmap, including navigation redesign and redevelopment, integration with other web properties, design, and development of new page content styles. 
  • Experience with Google Analytics (UA + GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Search Console required.
  • Experience with Google Optimize, Google Datastudio a plus.
  • Generates regular GA and other performance reports as needed, preferably via Google Datastudio.
  • Works with SLATE CRM manager to coordinate web properties.
  • Maintain a good working rapport with Information Technology and other IT programmers on campus.
  • Accomplishes university goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests.
  • Assists Marketing Team with other tasks as assigned.
  • Communicates with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders daily.
  • Serve as a liason with any third party web services such as Blackboard Merchant Services, GivingMD, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelors Degree required.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Website Development, Software Development, or related field preferred
  • Previous work with website required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  Employee must be able and willing to travel if necessary.
