Position Title:  BAS Plainview and Online Admissions Support 

Department/Division:  BAS/BCM Office 

Reports to: Director of BAS/BCM Office 

Position Classification: Non-Exempt 

Position Summary: The BAS Plainview and Online Admissions Support position is responsible and accountable to the director of BAS/BCM Office in all departmental operations.  This position is responsible for representing Wayland Baptist University to all students, staff and faculty in a manner which is in keeping with the mission and vision of the institution.

Specific Tasks & Duties:

  • Acts with integrity in all matters and exhibits behavior that reflects the highest ethical and professional standards
  • Completes all aspects of job in accordance with pertinent deadlines
  • Processes new applications and inquiries on App Review
  • Assists prospective walk-ins by familiarizing them with degrees offered and admissions processes
  • Assists current WBU students with pertinent non-academic issues
  • Via Perceptive Content, processes student applications for admission, including collecting all required documents and preparing the file to be sent to the admissions committee for permitting
  • Once permitted, processes the permit to enter document and communicates appropriately with respective external campus or directly with the WBU Online student
  • Prepares old files to be scanned into Perceptive Content and processes them appropriately once scanned
  • Effectively works Perceptive Content queues, including linking and routing of official documents entered into Perceptive Content by external campus staff
  • Both independently and in conjunction with the external campuses, builds official graduation list(s) for respective campus(es) and disseminates appropriately
  • Orders regalia for external campus graduation ceremonies
  • Attends and assists in five Plainview registrations
  • Effectively communicates daily with prospective and current students via email, phone, Mongoose (including text), and Facebook
  • Effectively communicates daily with external campus staff via email and phone
  • Responds to directives of the director of BAS/BCM Office

  • A written statement reflecting personal faith in Jesus Christ, church affiliation and involvement is required 

Experience and Knowledge:

  • At least 1 year office and computer experience

Educational Requirements:

  • Some college-level work preferred but not required


Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance.  If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license.  Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
