Thank you for inquiring into the financial aid process at Wayland Baptist University in Wichita Falls, Texas. In order to ensure a successful outcome it is important to understand the process as well as the necessary documentation required to complete the process.

Step 1:

Apply for the 2013/14 FAFSA at Please remember that the FAFSA is a FREE application, and there are other sites on the internet that “appear” to be the correct site that will ask for payment at the conclusion of your application. DO NOT ever pay for the FAFSA.

Step 2:

You will need to wait approximately 3 days from the date of submission of your FAFSA application and then contact the financial aid administrator for the Wichita Falls campus. Contact information is listed below. In some cases, students are selected by the Federal Government for verification and additional forms may be required. We have no way of knowing whether you will be selected or not, but until we know that you need additional documents, we will not collect any further information.

Step 3:

Completion of a Military Benefits Disclosure Form must be submitted along with the 31 December LES for the year prior to the financial aid school year you are applying for. (Example: 2013/14 financial aid school year requires a 31 December 2012 LES). This paperwork is required regardless of whether you are selected for verification or not. This form is available on the Wayland website at – current students – financial aid – forms.

Step 5:

Request an Authorization for Direct Deposit form from the local financial aid administrator. Adhere a voided check (deposit slip is NOT acceptable) from your personal checking or savings account so any credit monies due to you after all financial aid/PELL grant monies have paid will be direct deposited to your account. This prevents loss of paper checks, or delays in you obtaining your credit funds. This form can be scanned and emailed to the Wichita Falls financial aid administrator, mailed to the address below, or brought to the financial aid administrator at the Wayland Baptist University office located at 4110 Call Field Road.

It is important that we get this process started as soon as possible in order to have your file completed and ready to go for the fall semester. Remember that you MUST be fully admitted to the University as a Degree Seeking Student, have a Request for Degree Plan on file, all transcripts from prior universities received, application for admission fee paid, and you must attend a minimum of 6 semester hours each semester to qualify for any grants or financial aid funds.
