SAFETY AND DISCLOSURE STATEMENT
Officials at Wayland Baptist University are very concerned about your safety and security, and we place a high priority on maintaining a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff. In addition to official policies and procedures designed to enhance safety and security, it is critical that you also take responsibility for your personal safety. Your personal safety and security plan should include, as a minimum, the following components:
Faculty, staff, Sheppard AFB Security Forces, and the Wichita Falls Police Department assure security in Wayland classrooms and offices. For facilitates and classes on Sheppard AFB, security is strictly enforced by Security Forces. At both the Sheppard and Call Field locations, lights in the parking area are turned on before dark and remain on until after dawn.
Both Wayland Baptist University and the U. S. Air Force prohibit the use of illegal drugs. Wayland prohibits the use of alcohol and forbids the possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs/drug paraphernalia and alcohol by staff, faculty, and students at any activity offered under the aegis of the university. Compliance with these standards is mandatory.
Firearms for personal protection or sport are strictly prohibited at Wayland facilities. Absolutely no weapons may be brought by staff, faculty, or students onto any Federal military installation or Wayland Baptist University facility except by official law enforcement personnel.
No student housing is provided at the Wichita Falls Wayland Baptist University locations.
In compliance with the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990, Wayland has complied and reports the following criminal statistics for the period 2003, 2004, and 2005.
