Pre-Christian Counseling Track in Religion – 33 semester hours
This specialization requires students to take a second major in Psychology. These two majors prepare students for the graduate school degree required for counseling.
As one of the leading Christian colleges in the nation, Wayland Baptist University offers students the opportunity to participate in the Pre-Christian Counseling track. This branch of counseling focuses on the Bible as a main guidance tool when working with patients. Christian counselors are encouraged to teach their patients how to resolve problems following Christian based principles and with faith.
Although pre-professional programs such as the Pre-Christian counseling track focuses heavily on religion it is required that a student double majors in Psychology. Placing focus on Psychology gives the student the full scope of their professional career.

Pre-Christian Counseling Track in Religious Education – 33 semester hours
This specialization requires students to take a second major in Psychology. These two majors prepare students for the graduate degree required for counseling.
Similar to the Pre-Christian Counseling track in Religion the track for religious education differs to a more educational based foundation. Although Psychology as a second major is still required these undergraduate degree programs focus on counseling in religious education.
