Thank you for inquiring into the financial aid process here at Wayland Baptist University! In order to ensure a successful outcome, it's important to understand the process as well as the necessary documentation required to complete the process.
Wayland Baptist University does 100% verification, and this takes approximately4-5 weeks. The four to five weeks begins from the date that Wayland's Plainview campus receives the institutional application for financial aid along with all required documentation. If corrections must be made to your financial aid information then the length of the process will be extended by as much as two weeks.
To qualify for financial aid you must be a degree-seeking student at Wayland and be enrolled at least half-time. Half-time enrollment consists of 6 semester hours. The following list is comprised of required documentation a student needs to submit to Lori McConnell, the Financial Aid Coordinator, at Wayland's Phoenix campus or Debbie Daniels the Financial Aid Coordinator for Luke AFB. Please make sure there are no mistakes and all information is accurate. Inaccurate information can slow down the application process. Only when the financial aid packet is complete will it be sent it to Wayland's main campus for verification. In addition to the following items that are needed, you need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov
The following forms are available online at the main Financial Aid web site for Wayland.
1) 2007-2008 Institutional Application For Financial Aid
2) Verification Worksheet 2007-2008
3) 2006 Income tax return for student and parent/spouse, if applicable. Note the 1040 must be signed with the appropriate signatures.
4) 2006 W-2 Forms
5) If you or your spouse is a member of the military, please complete the 2007-2008 Military Benefit Disclosure Form.
6) 2006 LES (November or December) for you and/or your spouse if you are active members of the military.
If you feel there are special circumstances that need to be included in your financial aid information (i.e. divorce/separation, childcare, lower income, etc.), please contact Lori McConnell at Phoenix' financial aid office or Debbie Daniels at Luke AFB's financial aid office. It is in your best interest to complete your file ASAP. Please note that you are not eligible for aid until your ADADEMIC FILE is complete. If you have questions regarding your academic file, please contact your academic advisor. Forms that need to be submitted to financial aid may be turned in at any Wayland Baptist University office or may be mailed.
