Honor Societies induct new members at Wayland Baptist University

PLAINVIEW – The Alpha Chi and Psi Chi honor societies added new members to their groups during induction ceremonies held Thursday.

              Alpha Chi is the academic honor society, open to students in the top 10 percent of the junior and senior classes. Psi Chi is an honor society for psychology majors or minors and is open to students who hold high academic standing in those courses.

              New members to Alpha Chi include Tammy Baker, a senior from Plainview; Maureen Coutinho, a senior from Comoros Island; Lisa Jennings, a senior from Plainview; Leigha Messer, a senior from Amarillo; Lori Pretzer, a junior from Glendale, Ariz.; Kristen Raines, a senior from Mansfield; and Tiffany Thompson, a junior from Saginaw.

              Psi Chi added the following students: Elida Balderas, a senior from Lockney; Sonya Britton, a senior from Plainview; Michelle Gray, a junior from Chicago; D’Lea Jordan, a senior from Tahoka; and Erin Whedbee, a senior from Plainview.

              Dr. Perry Collins, associate professor of psychology, is sponsor for both groups.
