PHOENIX
- Friends, employees and members of the Phoenix educational consortium
gathered Tuesday morning, Jan. 14, for a grand opening celebration and
dedication of the new downtown location for Wayland Baptist University's
campus in Phoenix, Ariz. Located at 2702 North
Third Street in Central Park Forest, the facility represents the first
formal endeavor for the Phoenix campus to reach into the civilian population.
The campus has been situated solely on Luke Air Force Base for the past
ten years. The facility features office space and four classrooms. Classes
began meeting in the facility this past fall.
The Phoenix campus is one of 12 satellite campuses the university operates, and the campus caters primarily toward adult students, with a median age of 35. The campus offers evening classes to accommodate working adults who are completing a degree.
The campus offers the bachelor of science degree in a variety of specializations, with criminal justice being a popular major. Phoenix campus also offers the Master of Arts in Management and the Master of Religion in Christian Ministry degrees. The campus averages 250 students and has five 10-week terms to make earning credit hours easier.
