WBU theatre department planning trip to New York
The Wayland Baptist University theatre department is planning a trip to New York in January, and members of the community are invited.
According to theatre director Dr. Marti Runnels, the trip is scheduled for Jan. 2-7 and will feature traditional sightseeing, including Ground Zero, as well as taking in several on- and off-Broadway plays and musicals. Trip participants will also have some free times planned where they can see a show of their choosing or do more touring of the city.
Runnels said the final cost of the trip will not be determined until the number of participants is known, with a limit of $1,200 to $1,500 set up front. A deposit of $500 per person is due by Sept. 16 to reserve a space on the trip, and Runnels said he should know shortly after that what the total cost will be. The deposit is nonrefundable, he noted, unless the trip is cancelled for any reason.
The price of the trip includes airfare, hotel, show tickets and most meals. Noon meals will be the responsibility of the trip participants.
For more information or to reserve a place on the trip, contact Runnels at 291-1086.
