Release date: January 31 LLC offers courses in Microsoft, Spanish |

The Lifelong Learning Center of Wayland Baptist University will offer two courses for continuing education. The beginning course for Microsoft Word 2000 will be held on Friday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Jan. 25 to Feb. 22. The course covers the basics of Windows and computer usage as well as proficiency in word processing using the Microsoft Word 2000 software. Students will produce a variety of professional documents, using the latest techniques and terminology. Cost for the course is $105, and students will be required to purchase the textbook "Microsoft Word 2000 with CD" from the Wayland University Store. Students will also need two 3.5-inch disks. A course in Beginning Conversational Spanish will be held Feb. 5 through April 2, with classes meeting on Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., excluding the week of spring break. The class is a non-memorization, non-drill course where language is created from what participants already know. Students will learn a basic command of the Spanish language and will begin to think in Spanish as well as read, write and speak the language. Cost for the course is $72 and a textbook will be available for purchase at the University Store.
