Learning Center offering Microsoft courses
The Lifelong Learning Center at Wayland Baptist University will offer two courses on Microsoft program software beginning in April.
A class on Intermediate Microsoft Word 2000 will be offered on Friday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. April 5 through May 3. The course will cover creating documents, saving, copying disks, cut, copy and paste features, formatting, special characters and tools, tabs, margins, spell check, enhancing documents, using tables and columns and adding art. Participants should already know how to maneuver in Microsoft Word and have a basic knowledge of the keyboard.
The class is $105 per person plus $10 for a study booklet, and students will receive 1.5 continuing education credits. Participants will need two 3.5" high density disks, paper and pen. Virginia Rogers, secretary at the LLC and Computer Lab Assistant for South Plains College - Plainview, will teach the course. Space is limited and registration must be completed by 6 p.m. on April 2.
A course on Beginning Microsoft Excel 2000 will be held on two Saturdays, April 20 and 27, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The class will cover managing documents and files, entering, copying and moving data, formulas and functions, ranges, creating new worksheets, formatting, charts, macros and databases. Participants should know how to maneuver in Microsoft Word and have a basic knowledge of the keyboard.
Cost is $85 per person, and participants will need two 3.5" high density disks, paper and pen and the textbook "Microsoft Excel 2000 QuickTutorial," available at the Wayland University Store. Rogers will teach this course as well.
