This allows you to make significant gifts to Wayland Baptist University either during your lifetime or as part of an estate plan. Our professional staff has the tools and resources available to make the process as easy as possible.
General Funds
General funds help Wayland make needed upgrades to technology on its 13 campuses and improvements to buildings, including residence halls on the Plainview campus. all these things help students have a quality experience at the "home away from home" as they seek their dreams through education.
Directed Funds
Directed funds to a specific project or campaign, such as a building fund or academic department, see that specific needs are met for providing adequate spaces for growing academic program and student experiences. Many times, donors choose a project that aligns with their interests and goals.
Endowments
Endowed scholarships provide funds to offset the cost of higher education for students with financial need.
Scholarship are established with any amount of donation and invested. Once the fund reaches $25,000, it becomes endowed and interest is pulled annually for scholarships. Since only interest funds are used, endowed scholarships really are the "forever gift," a lasting legacy for families.

Gift of Life Insurance
A life insurance policy can become a gift of much greater value than the actual money expended when the policy is given to Wayland Baptist University , which is named as the beneficiary. The donor either can pay up the entire policy or make annual contributions to Wayland for the cost of the premiums. This is a tax-deductable gift
In most cases, current tax advantages are available only when ownership and beneficial interest in the policy is irrevocably transferred to the Foundation.
Whole and universal life insurance policies may accrue cash value and are usually assignable.
Term life insurance policies (e.g., a group term life policy provided by an employer) may not be assignable. However, a donor (insured) may still be able to designate Wayland as a beneficiary.
