school of languages and literature sponsors a study tour in summer 2014

Study tours allow Wayland students to apply first-hand their information about different cultures and experiences. The classroom lectures and readings come to life in those settings, adding a new dimension to the student’s education.

For the summer of 2014, Wayland students have the opportunity to tour the United Kingdom, including Brussels, London and Oxford, while earning credit in an upper-level English and/or history course. The 20-day tour will include historic attractions in London, the Brussels museum district and the Christian Theological Seminary, and literary history sites all over Oxford.

The cost of this once-in-a-lifetime experience is $2,800 per student. Friends of Wayland can show support for these unique academic endeavors by making a financial gift to the trip in general. Donations are tax-deductible when given to the general trip account; gifts are then divided among trip participants. If donors wish to support a specific student going on the tour, those gifts are not tax-deductible. Any help is appreciated to offset the cost of this experience.

Gifts can be made online with a credit card here https://give.wbu.edu/ by choosing “International: England Study Tour” from the drop-down menu. For gifts by check, mail to England Study Tour, WBU Advancement, 1900 West 7th, CMB 1295, Plainview, TX 79072. For more information, contact the School of Languages and Literature at (806) 291-1100.
