Researching and Writing a Term Paper in Ten Weeks
Welcome to the Fairbanks Campus on-line Writing Resource Center (WRC). This on-line WRC is another academic resource for all Wayland Baptist University students, faculty and staff. In addition, this on-line WRC provides information on writing workshops and scheduled seminars, as well as provides links to other research and writing resources.
The Fairbanks Campus WRC is physically located Washington Plaza, at 3419B Airport Way Fairbanks, Alaska. WBU students may come to the Writing Resource Center at any stage in their research paper writing to receive assistance, feedback, and instruction. A writing center tutor is available to assist students at any stage of their research paper writing project. Students may send their writing and/or research questions by e-mail to the Fairbanks Campus office by clicking here, or come into the writing center during the Fall, Winter and Spring term office hours. The writing center is located at our Eielson office.
At the Fairbanks Campus WRC we focus on the higher aspects of writing, such as research topic brainstorming, thesis thought and thesis sentence construction, paper organization and argument strategy, defining and clarification of terms, and writing style. Also, the writing center offers assistance, as well as several resource guides, on basic writing mechanics, grammar, and APA research paper writing style.
To assist students in time management, the Writing Center tutor has developed a structured methodology to write a research paper within a ten-week time frame. This time-task guide identifies specific critical writing tasks and places them in a week-by-week, chronological sequence.
