FAIRBANKS—ACADEMICS

The academic offerings of the Fairbanks campus mirror the standards of excellence you will find throughout the Wayland Baptist University system.

At the Fairbanks campus, several degrees are offered. They include:

  • Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.)
  • Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education (B.S.O.E.)
  • Bachelor of Christian Ministry (M.C.A.))
  • Master of Arts in Management (M.A.M.)
  • Master of Christian Ministry (M.C.M.)
  • Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.)

Academic Calendar
Programs at the Fairbanks campus are delivered in four semesters each year, with each semester lasting 11 weeks. Classes generally meet once a week, Monday through Friday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 10:10 p.m., and on Saturday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.

Academic Advising
Students at the Fairbanks campus have access to academic advising and counseling at the Eielson Air Force Base or Fort Wainwright Army Post. Academic advisors at the military bases generally work by appointment; however they do accept walk-ins. New students not assigned to a military base may call to make an appointment at the Eielson AFB in Fairbanks. New students will be assigned an academic advisor following the initial session.

New students seeking a preliminary degree plan should bring to the appointment copies of transcripts, CLEP, AARTS, DD Form 214 or DD Form 295, and certificates of all employer-based training they want to be evaluated for credit.

Make an appointment to have your credits evaluated and to determine the number of hours needed to complete your associate, bachelor’s, or master’s.
