The Student Records/Receptionist handles the telephone and office receptionist duties along with receiving phone calls; checking e-mail messages; directing customers to the right person/location; basic file clerk activities (paper and electronic). 


1.  Establish and maintain electronic student files for all active and inactive undergraduate and graduate students.

2.  Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.

3.  Make appointments for academic advisors.

4.  Provide friendly customer service at the front desk as needed.

5.  Distribute and collect course evaluations if necessary.

6.  Maintain hallway bulletin boards.

7.  Maintain used book board.

8.  Maintain brochures and schedules.

9.  Receive payments for tuition, books, fees.

10.  Enter registrations on computer.

11.  Work in a dynamic team environment.

12.  Courier to Parkside office as needed.

13. Occasional duties or presence as needed at Elmendorf office, working closely with Elmendorf regularly.

14.  Assist with and attend WBU and CCAF graduation ceremonies.

15.  Assist in other WBU offices in Anchorage as needed.

16.  Assist Site Coordinator with Go-Army EU billing as needed.

17.  Participate in out-of-office presentations as needed.

18.  Procter examinations as needed.

19.  Attend bi-weekly staff meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS: A commitment of Christian Higher education and in agreement with the purposes and philosophy of Christian higher education as promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas in general and Wayland Baptist University in particular.
Education, Certification and Licence:

1.  High School Diploma or GED required.

2.  Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.

3.  On-base access required.

Experience & Knowledge:

Experience in supervised and unsupervised receptionist/office duties preferable.

Skills & Abilities:

1.  Must possess excellent customer service skills.

2.  Possesses strong administrative skills.

3.  Ability to juggle multiple tasks is essential.

4.  Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the university is a must. 

5.  Must possess good PC skills and experience in MS Office suite including Word,  Excel, Access,  and PowerPoint.

6.  Communication skills.

7.  Must possess good verbal and written skills as well as good listening skills.

8.  Organizational skills.

9.  Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational skills.

10.  Ability to understand and interpret personnel policies and procedures.

11.  Ability to prioritize; is flexible; and is available to work extended hours as needed.

12.  Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with others.

Additional Requirements:

Must have no delinquent or defaulted Student Loans.  A credit check may be conducted to insure the requirement is met.
