RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Front Office Receptionist is responsible to receive students and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, forward telephone messages, schedule appointments for advisors and communicate general information regarding the university.

SPECIFIC TASKS

          AND DUTIES:

1.  Take incoming phone calls and/or messages and route to appropriate persons in a courteous and positive manner at all times.

2.  Greet students, prospective students, and visitors, and refer to appropriate faculty or staff members in a courteous, positive and professional manner at all times.

3.  Monitor and respond to e-mail messages as necessary for the Campus, which includes checking messages daily with response given daily and/or routed to appropriate persons.

4.  Assists with registration, graduation exercises and graduation banquet as necessary.

5.  Assist when necessary with classroom, faculty and staff supply needs.

6.  Distribute exam materials and completed exams or information to students as may be required by faculty.

7.  Convey approved information to inquiries from prospective students, current students, visitors and the general public.  

8.  Additional duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Academic:

Bachelors degree is preferred but not required.
    Experience &  Knowledge:

1.  One (1) year of general office experience.

2.  Provide experience in the area of customer service.

3. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, proper business letter format, envelope addressing and other office procedures and terminology.

4.  Knowledge and ability in applying Christian principles in the work place is also required.

Skills & Abilities:

1. Good verbal and written communication skills.

2. Excellent telephone skills and pleasant voice required. 

3. Must have working experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.

4. An in-depth understanding of, and commitment to, the “team” is essential to advancing the Lubbock Campus mission. 

5. Ability to manage multiple tasks is essential.

6. Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational skills.

7. Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with others.

     Additional Requirements:

Must be able to pass required Background Checks, which may include a Credit Check.
