what to recycle

The following items are accepted in the blue recycling bins around the city, then processed by the City of Plainview Recycling Center.

• Office and copier paper (staples OK, no paper clips)
• Plastic bottles, especially with #1 or #2 symbols (soda, detergent, water, juice) - rinsed, lids removed
• Newspapers (remove slick paper inserts)
• Brown paper bags and plastic shopping bags
• Cardboard boxes (moving boxes, food boxes), empty rolls from toilet paper or paper towels

The best part? No sorting is needed!
