Turnovers take toll in Queens' loss in OK

The Flying Queens were defeated by the Lady Bison of Oklahoma Baptist University, 34-55, in Shawnee on February 5.

Going into the second half, the Queens only trailed by one, 19-20. They were outscored 15 to 35 in the second half though, leading to the Bison victory.

The turnovers had a big impact on the game. The Queens forced 14 turnovers, while the Bison forced the Flying Queens to turn the ball over 22 times.

Both teams shot in low percentages, the Queens with 26 percent and the Bison with 30 percent.

Two Queens scored in the double figures. Stephanie Shaw contributed 11 points, while Jennifer Doherty added 10 points.

High rebounds for the Flying Queens was Nikki Wallace with eight. Wallace also dished out five assists.

This game evened the Flying Queen conference record to 6-6, moving them to into sixth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
