Students perform in recital tonight

Award-winning music students will perform tonight at the Honor’s Recital at 7:30 p.m. in Harrall Auditorium. Attendance is open to the general public.
The recital is the result of last April’s Music Achievement Awards (MAA’s).
Dr. Sandy Mosteller says the awards were an attempt “to find our most talented music majors.”
During the MAA’s, music majors compete against others within their classification. The top three finishers in each classification will be performing on Monday night.
Mosteller believes that this is an event not to be missed.
“It should be one of the best performances put on by students to attend,” Mosteller said.
She points to diversification as one exciting feature of the exhibition.
“This year it so happens that the performers are almost equally represented by voice, keyboard, guitar, and other musical instruments,” Mosteller said.
Performers include: Melanie Hester, Alexis Hall, Matt Anderson, Josh Allen, Rebecca Ballinger, Lisa Wigington, Corey Jones, Alicia Alford, Rebecca Jackson, Rachel Merrill and Chris Styne.
