October Events

The Oahu Baptist Network annual meeting will take place the evening of October 9 at First Baptist Church Pearl City. WBU representatives will present information on our programs, particularly for those interested in ministry.

October continues our fall 'Imi 'Ike Enrichment Series. The last workshop on discerning and addressing reading disabilities takes place Saturday, October 4. Personnel from the Hawaii branch of the International Dyslexia Association will conduct this workshop. Session times are 9:00 to 11:30 A.M.

The last series of the fall focuses on personal financial management. Personnel from Central Pacific Bank will conduct the sessions which are slated for October 11, 18, and 25. Session times are 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. and are open to the public at no charge. Contact Melinda Rector at 564-3340 for more information.

This year, Wayland Baptist University will be participating in Bayfest, October 17-19. If you are on the Marine Corps Base Hawaii for this event, stop by and visit with us in the exhibitors' area.

On October 29, Wayland will be one of the sponsors of the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii's Small Biz Academy. This series of workshops centers on the needs of small business owners in Hawaii. We are proud to support this educational experience.

Winter semester registration

Registration for both the Hawaii campus face-to-face classes and the Virtual Campus online classes will begin October 20. Starting this semester, the Hawaii and VC terms will have the same schedules. Students using VA benefits will be able to count online and face-to-face classes within the same semester.

Fall graduation exercises
