Espanola, NM---The Wayland Baptist Pioneer basketball team turned the ball over just six times in a 90-65 win over Northern New Mexico College Tuesday night.  The Pioneers, who returned only one starter from a year ago, have won seven straight to open the season.

PIONEERS WIN AGAIN IN OKLAHOMA

Shawnee, OK---The Wayland Baptist Pioneer basketball team picked up two wins on the road at the Oklahoma Baptist Classic over the weekend.  On Friday, the Pioneers defeated Central Baptist College of Conway, Ark. by a score of 89-77, and then on Saturday the WBU men picked up win number six on the season with an 85-60 victory over Central Bible College of Missouri.  >>Read More

 

WATKINS LEADS TEAM TO VICTORY

Shawnee, OK---The WBU men's basketball team defeated Central Baptist College, 89-77, in the first game of the Oklahoma Baptist Classic. Freshman Bobby Watkins of Amarillo had a team-high 20 points for the Pioneers, who improved to 5-0 on the season.

Wayland scored 50 points in the first half, shooting 53 percent from the field with four three-pointers.  The Pioneers were also an amazing 14-of-16 from the free throw line in the opening period.  >>Read More
