BASEBALL FACILITIES
David & Myrt Wilder Field
Dedicated in the spring of 1999, Wilder Field is the home of the Wayland Pioneer Baseball program and is one of the premiere facilities in the region. It features covered seating for 810, a full press box, inning-by-inning score board and attached practice infield. Restrooms, concessions, picnic plaza and a first-class sound system add to the baseball experience for visitors. The facility also features a grass infield, and the outfield fence measures 325 feet down the right- and left-field lines and 395 at the center field fence. Besides being the Pioneers' home field, Wilder Field has also been the site for various playoff games at the high school level. In the evenings, the Pioneers play under eight 100' light poles that encompass the baseball fied. The AAA lighting system was designed by Techline Sports Lighting Systems. |
