ANCHORAGE WRITING CENTER

Welcome to the Alaska Campus on-line Writing Center (WC). This on-line WC is another academic resource for all Wayland Baptist University students, faculty and staff. In addition, this on-line WC provides information on writing workshops and scheduled seminars, as well as provides links to other research and writing resources..

The Anchorage Campus WC is physically located on the downstairs floor of the Parkside Campus, at 7801 E. 32nd Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska. WBU students may come to the Writing Resource Center at any stage in their research paper writing to receive assistance, feedback, and instruction. A writing center tutor is available to assist students at any stage of their research paper-writing project. Students may send their writing and/or research questions by e-mail to the Anchorage Campus office by clicking on Anchorage Campus , or come into the Writing Center during posted hours.

At the Anchorage Campus WC we focus on the higher aspects of writing, such as research topic brainstorming, thesis thought and thesis sentence construction, paper organization and argument strategy, defining and clarification of terms, and writing style. Also, the writing center offers assistance, as well as several resource guides, on basic writing mechanics, grammar, and APA research paper writing style.

To assist students in time management, the Writing Center tutor has developed a structured methodology to write a research paper within a ten-week time frame. This time-task guide identifies specific critical writing tasks and places them in a week-by-week, chronological sequence. To view the research paper guide, go to Research Paper Writing Guide.
