Thank you for inquiring into the financial aid process here at Wayland Baptist University! In order to ensure a successful outcome, it's important to understand the process as well as the necessary documentation required to complete the process.

Wayland Baptist University does 100% verification, and this takes approximately 4-5 weeks. The four to five weeks begins from the date that Wayland's Plainview Campus receives the institutional application for financial aid along with all required documentation. If corrections must be made to your financial aid information then the length of the process will be extended by as much as two weeks.

To qualify for financial aid you must be a degree-seeking student at Wayland and be enrolled at least half-time. Half-time enrollment consists of 6 semester hours. The following list is comprised of required documentation a student may need to submit to Sarah Artho, the Financial Aid Coordinator, at Wayland's Amarillo Campus if verification is requested by the Department of Education. Please make sure there are no mistakes and all information is accurate. Inaccurate information can slow down the application process. Only when the financial aid packet is complete, will it be sent it to Wayland's main campus for verification. The following forms are available online at the main Financial Aid web site for Wayland.

1) 2016-2017 Verification Worksheet
2) 2015 Income tax return transcript for student and parent/spouse, if applicable.
3) If your spouse or child is attending a college/university other than WBU, please include a copy of their college schedule for the upcoming semester.

4) If you or your spouse are paying/receiving child support, please include a copy of payments contributed/received during the 2015 year.

5) If you or your spouse is a member of the military, please complete the 2016-2017 Military Benefit Disclosure Form.
6) 2015 LES (November or December) for you and/or your spouse if you are active members of the military.

If you feel there are special circumstances that need to be included in your financial aid information (i.e. divorce/separation, childcare, lower income, social security benefits, etc.), please contact Sarah Artho at Amarillo's financial aid office. It is in your best interest to complete your file ASAP. Please note that you are not eligible for aid until your ACADEMIC FILE is complete. Forms that need to be submitted to financial aid may be turned in at any Wayland Baptist University office or may be mailed.
