GAYLYNN RAMSEY NIEMINEN, EX’72, lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia, with husband Dave, who is disabled from a brain tumor. Gaylynn is an administrative assistant in the Office of Development, Administrative Group, of the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention in Alpharetta. DENNIS NOBLETT, BA’79, has been named director of the North Texas Medical Center Foundation in Gainesville, Texas.  He has served as director of development at Western Texas College in Snyder and also raised funds as a board member for CareNet Pregnancy Center in Canyon.  Dennis has also served as a pastor, a corporate trainter and a freelance graphic designer and illustrator.  He previously served as recruiter in the Admissions Office at Wayland.  Dennis is married to the former SUSAN SHELLENBERGER, FS, who worked in the Admissions Office and served as dormitory counselor.  She is teaching halftime for the Sherman Independent School District.  They have three children, Tyler, 15, and twins Abby and Jessie, 10.  (1624 Yarborough Street, Sherman, TX  75092  E-mail:  dgnoblett@yahoo.com)

Christian love and sympathy to the family and friends of GORDON OGLESBY, BA’73 who died on November 25, 2006 while serving as a Texas Army National Guard chaplain in Kosovo on a peacekeeping mission with the 36th Infantry Division.  He was due to return to his home in Kermit, Texas on December 15.  Gordon was a lieutenant colonel and had served in the Guard as chaplain for more than 20 years.  He was on active duty at Fort Eustis Virginia from 1989-1992 and served in the Persian Gulf during that time.  He and his son Trey were a unit ministry team in 2000 and served together in Bosnia.  Gordon had been a teacher for 24 years at both the Kermit Junior High and High School and served as bi-vocational pastor at the Grace Temple Baptist Church in Kermit and First Baptist Church in Pyote before his deployment.  In addition to his son, he has a daughter and is also survived by his wife, ELIZABETH OGLESBY, BA’73.  Elizabeth retired from teaching in the elementary school in Kermit in 2004 and currently teaches private piano lessons.  (1008 E. Mr. and Mrs. JIM PALMER, BA’73 (SHERRY HALLFORD, BA’74) both have new positions in Wyoming. Jim has been recruited from the Department of Family Services by the Wyoming State Department of Health to direct a new program in the state, State Program Director for Substance Abuse with the Department of Health. Legislators passed a bill and funded a statute for substance abuse offenders that will look at them in a holistically way. As of July 1, Sherry became the Executive Director of the Wyoming School-University Partnership. As such, she coordinates efforts between 47 school districts, the University of Wyoming, the State Department of Education, state teacher organizations and 7 community colleges on joint activities that deal with teacher education, professional development and policy. She has completed all but her dissertation in her doctoral studies. Their daughter Crece lives in Laramie and works as a training assistant for th e Wyoming Institute for Disabilities and attends Laramie County Community College. KERRY PARK, BA’79, lives in Colorado Springs where she is director of marketing and on the publishing board at Cook Ministries. The board determines what books will be published and Kerry is over the area that creates all the book covers, ads and promotional materials for the more than 150 books published annually. Last year, she worked on a book by Bishop Ting, the head of the Chinese Communist Church. This summer, she has been invited to visit key churches and seminaries in China where she will lecture on western book design, Christian publishing and may even be asked to preach at a few locations. CHARLES T. PARKS, BA’71, retired from Federal Aviation Administration in March, 1995. He retired from private industry in April, 2005 and moved to Sanford, North Carolina in June. Christian love and sympathy to the family and friends of WILLIAM J. “BILL” PAYNE, BSOE’76, who died on March 25 in Lubbock. He was a graduated of the Lubbock Campus. Bill served the City of Lubbock for 42 years as a fire-fighter and in several management positions, culminating his career in 1993 as assistant city manager. He served as Director of Civil Defense during the Lubbock tornado in 1970. Bill was honored in 2003 by the Lubbock City Council by namining the William J. Payne Emergency Operations Center in his honor. Among his survivors is his wife, Helen, a former member of the Lubbock Campus Advisory Council, and a son, WILLIAM B. PAYNE, BSOE’88, MBA’99, who also graduated from the Lubbock Campus.

He and Shelly have taught these classes in the three last churches he has served as well as for associational events and various ministries. NANCY RINEHART RAWLINS, BS'70, completed 30 years of teaching in the Bay City Independent School District in May. She taught on the junior high level for four years and for the next 26 years taught geometry and algebra at Bay City High School. Nancy also serves as statistician for the Bay City Lady Cat basketball team. She and her husband have a son, Denton Reagan Rawlins, 20, who is serving in the U. S. Navy. Susi leads women's ministries at church and works three days a week as a dental hygienist. They have three sons, Christopher and twins Andrew and Will. DONNA REBADOW, BS'74, still lives in Phoenix and is teaching at Paradise Valley Community College. She has completed her pilot’s license and is enjoying flying her Cessna 172. Donna’s favorite community service project is her work as a volunteer “puppy raiser” for the Eye Dog Foundation of Phoenix. They supply an 8 week old German Shepherd puppy that the volunteer agrees to take to training twice a month. The volunteer is responsible for the basic obedience and socialization of the pup and gets to take it everywhere he goes for the first year of his life. Son Noah graduated in May from Prestonwood and plans to go to Hawaii for training with Youth With a Mission. Since September, he has been contracting with a company in the Washington, D.C. area and they have an apartment there where they stay about three weeks out of the month. They are enjoying the Washington area. With David's brother, Dr. TOM SANDERS, BS'66, only an hour away, and his other brother, Dr. TED SANDERS, BS'64, making frequent trips to the area, they enjoy periodic family dinners. Mr. and Mrs. DENYS SANDERS, BA’77 (JOLENE BROCK, BS’78) live in Plainview where he owns and operates Denys Sanders Plumbing. Jolene is a teacher at Plainview Christian Academy where she teaches all science, grade 7-12. They have five children. Their oldest, Dela, 18, is a freshman at Wayland. Their son, Denny, 16, a junior at PCA, last summer took courses at Wayland toward an engineering degree. Their other children, David, 14, Doanh, 12 and Dustin, 11, are busy with Boy Scouts and Venture Crew 9 Kwahadi Indian Dancers. The Kwahadi's are an internationally known group that toured over 22 states this year. Last summer, they traveled in three foreign countries, Germany, Switzerland and Czechoslovakia. BOB SHELDON, BA’77, is living in Estes Park, Colorado, with wife Ginger. Bob is mission development director for the Synod of the Rocky Mountains, Presbyterian Church (USA). He earned his master’s degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and became Presbyterian in 1992. He pastored a couple of churches in Colorado and six years ago, the synod (regional governing body that covers Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado) offered him the position of development director to help the church fund its mission. He works with all entities--congregations, presbyteries, synod, camps, as well as the national church--to identify and articulate their mission. He also helps individuals determine what's valuable for them and how to support it with their resources. Bob says he loves every minute of his work, gets to travel a lot and has, perhaps, become more extroverted! BELINDA HOWARD SMITH, EX’74, daughter of the late Dr. FRED D. HOWARD, professor emeritus of religion, and SARAH HOWARD, BS’64, is following in her father’s footsteps as an author and writer of life stories.  One of her short stories is featured in the April 2007, Mature Living magazine, published by LifeWay. Titled "Easter in the Plains," Smith tells about her childhood experiences of Easter growing up in Plainview. A similar version of the story, "Springtime in Plainview brings fond memories" appeared in the Plainview Daily Herald, April 14, 2004. Several of Smith’s articles have been published by Focus on the Family. In the works are two manuscripts, "Scrapbooking Your Faith - Leaving a Legacy of Love" and "When a Casserole Is Not Enough – Spiritual Recipes for Life Events." He was owner/operator of McAdoo Flying Service in Crosbyton and was on a spraying job when his plane crashed. It is believed that he clipped a newly installed transmission tower. Dr. DARRYL TILLER, BS’71, has been Director of Training for the Oklahoma Health Center Clinical Pastoral Education Institute in Oklahoma City since 1988 (www.cpeokc.org).  His doctorate is in counseling and his work is that of training clergy in pastoral care and counseling.  Darryl is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Oklahoma, and is certified as a Supervisor with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc., a Fellow with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, and a Diplomat with the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy.  Darryl lives in Norman with wife Linda, who is the Development Officer for the College of Fine Arts at the University of Oklahoma.  Darryl and Linda have five adult children between them and two grandchildren. Christian love and sympathy to the family and friends of PEARL WORRELL TRIMBLE, BS’76, who died in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 25, 2005.  Pearl was a former English teacher and head girls basketball coach at Amarillo’s Palo Duro High School for 11 years, assistant athletic director for four years and assistant personnel director for 8 years.  Due to a severe illness, she took early retirement in 1998.  At the time of her death, she was office administrator for The Community Center of Decatur, Georgia.  Among her survivors are two daughters, Monica and Michelle, four sisters and two brothers, all of the Atlanta area.

Billy has been appointed executive director of online learning at The American College, a provider of education and designation programs for financial service professionals. He is responsible for creating interactive web-based learning experiences and for managing the editorial, production and instructional design department. The college has aligned with Blackboard Inc., a leading enterprise software company for online education, to deliver online course offerings as part of an initiative to move the institution to the next level in interactive learning. Marilyn is on medical leave from Scottsdale Schools after undergoing knee surgery. Rev. and Mrs. CHUCK WILLIAMS, BA’74 (ANN GLAZENER, BA’73) had an eventful year in 2006.  Chuck is still pastor of Live Oak Community Church which he founded 13 years ago.  This year the church had to acquire a 1600 square foot office building and replace two full-time staff members.  They started the year off by with Chuck have knee surgery.  In March, Ann had back surgery.  Their book, “Eternal Route 66:  Get More Than Kicks,” continues to do well and is offered at Barnes and Noble, Hastings and Amazon.  They have a new website, www.eternalroute66.com.  In June, they attended the National Route 66 Festival in Albuquerque.  In July, they vacationed in Flagstaff, Arizona and the Grand Canyon.  In August, they celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary and in September, they celebrated Chuck’s parents’ 60th anniversary.  October found them on a fall foliage tour to New England which they highly recommend.  And in November, they acquired a 7-week old toy Australian Shepherd named Buddy. DENISE McKEE ZIGLER, BA'78, lives in Murphreesboro, Tennessee, with husband Eric and their three sons, Robert, 17, Daniel, 12 and Jonathan, 7. Eric is a teacher in the Rutherford County Schools and Denise enjoys being a homemaker and mother.
