DEAN'S MESSAGE

"WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY exists to educate students in an academically challenging, learning-focused and distinctively Christian environment for professional success, lifelong learning and service to God and humankind.” So reads the mission statement of Wayland Baptist University, an institution with a century of service.

The same may be said of Wayland’s Albuquerque campus. Located in the heart of a vibrant city and situated between the Rio Grande and the towering peaks of the Sandia Mountains, the Albuquerque Campus of Wayland Baptist University endeavors to provide a quality education in a supportive, Christian environment. Since its beginning in 1999, we haven’t forgotten the importance of maintaining an atmosphere where you as students really count and the professors really know your name.

That’s significant considering that the student body at the WBU-ABQ campus is comprised mostly of non-traditional students who juggle full-time jobs and family responsibilities. That’s also one reason why most of our classes are in the evening. If you’re working at Kirtland AFB, we make it simple by hosting classes on base. We also have a number of police, sheriff, and other civil servants, as well as, working teachers seeking to comply with No Child Left Behind or to advance their careers.

If you’re reading this, I commend your determination to dream about completing your educational goals. The two most critical resources you’ll need to accomplish your goals are time and focus. We are committed to making sure that you choose and complete the degree program best suited for you.

Again, I welcome you to the Albuquerque campus of Wayland Baptist University and pray God’s best for you in the pursuit of your educational goals.

Blessings,

Ben D. Craver, Ph.D.
