Big Weekend,

our annual
spring preview event  
scheduled this year

for March 28-29.

 

Big Weekend is one of the best ways ever for high school juniors, seniors, and transfers     and their families to learn all about Wayland and get a feel for life here. At Big Weekend, you’ll have a chance to complete your Admissions and financial aid processes, visit classrooms, secure your housing, meet professors, tryout for athletic or fine arts scholarships, and learn about the Wayland Pioneer spirit.

The fee is $30 per person in attendance. It is payable when you arrive and it  covers all meals, sessions, and attendance to special events. Groups of 10 or more may attend for $20 per person.

Housing Information:

At Big Weekend, students may stay in dorm rooms with our Resident Hall Assistants,Student Foundation members, and other current students. Big Weekenders may not check into the dorms without having made reservations and check-in occurs no later than 10:00 p.m. on March 28. To reserve your spot in the dorm, please call the Admissions Office at 806-291-3500 by March 24th.   Too, you'll need to bring a sleeping bag and bath linens for your stay.

Parents and sponsors may want to book their rooms now at the hotels noted below.

Athletic Tryouts

During Big Weekend, we’ll conduct tryouts for men’s and women’s soccer and basketball.    Please print off the Athletic Tryout Waiver of Liability below, complete and sign it.    You may bring it with you to tryouts.
