GRADUATE REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Application for Admission: Submit a completed application for admission.

Application Fee: Send an application fee of $35 in the form of an international money order, cashier's check, traveler's check, or U.S. postal money order. This fee cannot be waived and is not refundable.

Visa Authorization Form: In addition to the application, all international students are required to submit a Visa Authorization form to provide more information about their citizenship status.

English Proficiency: Wayland requires that all international students whose home or first language is not English take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and have the scores sent directly to Wayland. Wayland's institutional code is 6390. The minimum score required is 500 on the paper-based exam, 173 on the computer-based exam, and 61 on the Internet-based exam. You can find more information on the TOEFL website.

Transcripts: The applicant must submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.  If these are in a language other than English, a certified translation will be required.  To be considered official, the transcript(s) must be sent directly from the issuing school(s) to Wayland's Graduate Office.  Copies of the transcript(s) sent by the student will not be accepted as official.

Transcript Evaluations: It is the responsibility of the applicant to have all transcripts, certificates or diplomas from institutions outside the United States sent to a credentials evaluation agency for evaluation. The evaluation must be a course-by-course evaluation and include appropriate subject identification and a GPA calculation. A copy of the results must be sent directly to Wayland from the evaluation service. You can more information on foreign credential evaluations at www.naces.org.  Note:  The evaluation company may require that transcripts to be evaluated be sent directly from the issuing institution to the evaluating company, also.

Financial Support: You must certify to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service that you have sufficient funds available to cover all of your expenses while studying here. A completed Financial Statement form is required for your file. Verification of support sufficient for one full academic year (two semesters) is required. The university is in a position to offer only limited scholarship aid to international students at this time. Scholarship aid should not be relied upon to finance your education.

Financial Aid:  all students, regardless of status, are required to fill out Wayland's Institutional Financial Aid Form.  Even though very few scholarships are available for graduate students, this form is used by the financial aid department to determine eligibility for any scholarships that may become available.
