RESIDENCE HALL INFORMATION

 

Telephone service is available in every room with no installation charge to the student. Students must provide their own phone (tone-dial units only). Wayland offers a competitive long-distance service. Calling cards and outgoing collect calls also are permissible.

Coin-operated washers and dryers are available in every residence hall. Residents can obtain quarters at any one of many nearby banks.

Guest rooms are located in Caprock Complex, Owen Hall, Davis Hall, and Fleming-Mays Tower. They are available to parents and family members for a fee of $10 per person, per night.

Cable television hook-ups are available in every room. Cable service can be acquired through the local cable TV company.

Snack and drink machines are located near each lobby area.

Internet hookup is available in all dorm rooms.

Each room will have two single beds, two desks, and two chairs. Most rooms have built-in dressers but some have movable dressers.

Davis Hall, Ferguson Hall , Fleming-Mays Tower, and Pioneer Hall have carpeted rooms. All other residence halls have tile floors which the residents may choose to carpet. Floor dimensions are given under each hall's heading.

Caprock Hall has extra long twin mattresses. All other halls have standard twin mattresses.
All dorms with the exception of Caprock and Owen Hall will close for Spring Break and other university holidays.

Appliances are limited to a microwave not to exceed 600 watts and a small refrigerator not to exceed 1.7 cubic feet.

Smoking is not allowed in the residence halls, or within twenty feet of any dorm or other university building.
