Student in dorm roomA big part of what makes The Wayland Family and the entire campus community such a strength is the experience of living on campus. Housing at Wayland is more than a place to sleep and hang your hat. It is a place and resource designed to help students develop emotionally, socially, spiritually, and physically.

As a student living on campus, you will find a staff of professionals trained in counseling, development theory, communication skills, and other areas that will play an important role in all community environments. Implementing this philosophy, we see incoming freshmen leave as mature, educated graduates.

Wayland Baptist features nine residence halls, as well as three housing facilities for married students. Each residence hall room has two single beds, two desks, and two chairs. Most rooms have built-in dressers, but some have movable dressers. Some suggested items to bring for new students include:

  • Mattress pad
  • Linens and bedspread
  • Blanket and pillow
  • Alarm clock
  • Telephone
  • Small trash can
  • Laundry bag
  • Laundry soap and quarters
  • Towels
  • Refrigerator (1.7 cu. ft.)
  • Microwave (600W or less)
  • Extension cords
  • Clothes hangers
  • Iron/ironing board
  • Small television and DVD player
  • Small stereo system

Guest rooms are located in Caprock Complex, Owen Hall, Davis Hall, and Fleming-Mays Tower. They are available to parents and family members for a fee of $10 per person, per night.
