FINANCIAL AID STEPS

MAKING IT HAPPEN

STEP 1 - Submit the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon after January 1st as possible. Include Wayland as a recipient of the information. The federal school code for Wayland Baptist University is:  0003663.

STEP 2 - Students are encouraged to access NetPartner for speedy processing.  However in order to access NetPartner, a student must first exist in the current year data base.  To be sure to be included in this data base complete one of these steps:

1. a. Complete FAFSA and verify that it is submitted to WBU.

b. Obtain Student ID through the admissions process.

2.  E-mail finaidhelp@wbu.edu if you have not completed a FAFSA or received a Student ID.

NetParter allows students to find all required documentaion that should be submitted for the current school year. Along with this you will need to submit signed copies of your federal tax return and W2s.  If you are a dependent student, please submit signed copies of your parents’ federal tax return and W2s also.  Please scan and e-mail these documents to the financial aid advisor at your campus or to finaidhelp@wbu.edu

STEP 3 - Students who are active military or have an active military spouse or parent should submit a 2008-09 Military Benefit Disclosure Form along with the appropriate LES. These forms can be accessed in pdf format by clicking here.

STEP 4 - Wayland will receive a copy of your data in the form of an Institutional Student Information Form (ISIR). You will receive your own copy of the data in the form of a Student Aid Report (SAR). Read the instruction page carefully, review the information for accuracy and contact the Financial Aid Office at your campus of attendance if corrections appear to be necessary. Do not make corrections yourself without first contacting the Financial Aid Office. Corrections can usually be processed electronically within a matter of days.

STEP 5 - The Wayland Financial Aid Office will contact you by e-mail if additional documents are required for completion of your file. Please respond to any correspondence as quickly as possible.

STEP 6 – Students must be fully admitted into the University in order to receive Financial Aid.  A student cannot receive Federal Financial Aid from two schools at the same time, even if they overlap by one day.  Be sure that the financial aid you may have been awarded for 08-09 at any other university has been canceled.

STEP 7 - Upon completion of your file, Wayland will send you an e-mail notification with directions to access NetPartner to view and accept current year aid.  Any future revisions will be handled in the same way.

STEP 8- On NetParter's "Accept Awards" tab, accept or decline all awards and "submit"

STEP 9 – If you have chosen to accept student loans, you will be required to access https://lbw.tgslc.org and complete the loan with your choice of lender.  You may reduce the certified amount, but you may not increase the amount.  If you are a first time borrower, or this is your first time to attend Wayland, you are required to complete Loan Entrance Counseling at www.MappingYourFuture.orgLoan proceeds will not be disbursed to your account until this has been completed.
