FINANCIAL AID STEPS
STEP 1 - Submit the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon after January 1st as possible. Include Wayland as a recipient of the information. The federal school code for Wayland Baptist University is: 0003663. STEP 2 - Apply on-line now at NetPartner ! (a portion of the application process can be completed on-line along with direction in submitting printable versions of related required documents.) If students are not able to apply electronically at NetPartner they may submit the Institutional Application for Financial Aid (available in pdf format by clicking here.) and any Scholarship Specific Applications (Honors program, Ministerial, Christian Leadership, etc.) directly to the Wayland Financial Aid Office at your primary campus of attendance. All student files will be verified therefore students will also be required to submit a Verification Worksheet available in pdf format by clicking here. Along with this document you will need to submit signed copies of your federal tax return and W2s. If you are a dependent student, please submit signed copies of your parents’ federal tax return and W2s also. STEP 3 - Students who are active military or have an active military spouse or parent should submit a 2008-09 Military Benefit Disclosure Form along with the appropriate LES. These forms can be accessed in pdf format by clicking here. STEP 4 - Wayland will receive a copy of your data in the form of an Institutional Student Information Form (ISIR). You will receive your own copy of the data in the form of a Student Aid Report (SAR). Read the instruction page carefully, review the information for accuracy and contact the Financial Aid Office at your campus of attendance if corrections appear to be necessary. Do not mail corrections yourself without first contacting the Financial Aid Office. Corrections can usually be processed electronically within a matter of days.
STEP 5 - The Wayland Financial Aid Office will contact you by letter if additional documents are required for completion of your file. Please respond to any correspondence immediately. STEP 6 – Students must be fully admitted into the University in order to receive Financial Aid. A student cannot receive Federal Financial Aid from two schools at the same time, even if they overlap by one day. Be sure that the financial aid you may have received at any university immediately prior to Wayland has been canceled. STEP 7 - Upon completion of your file, Wayland will send you an award letter detailing the type and amount of aid you may receive. Please be sure that the e-mail address you have submitted to the financial aid office is up to date as correspondence will be submitted via e-mail.
STEP 8- Return your signed award letter to the Wayland Financial Aid Office within 15 days to secure your financial assistance. STEP 9 – If you have chosen to accept student loans, you will be required to access https://lbw.tgslc.org and complete the loan with your choice of lender. You may reduce the certified amount, but you may not increase the amount. If you are a first time borrower, or this is your first time to attend Wayland, you are required to complete Loan Entrance Counseling at www.Mapping-Your-Future.org. Loan proceeds will not be disbursed to your account until this has been completed. |
