Work-study Program
Wayland offers a great opportunity to gain work experience...and a little extra cash. Several Work-Study positions are available on campus which offer work experience in numerous fields of study.
Students seeking employment on campus must complete Student Worker Orientation. The student will also be required to submit the following documents in order to retain a position. It is the student’s responsibility to submit a copy of their application to the departments on campus that fit their personality and skill level. Once the student finds employment on campus, they will work with the department and our Work-Study Coordinator to complete a work agreement in order to receive payment. The Work-Study Coordinator will determine whether the student will be considered Federal Work-Study, Institutional Work-Study or be funded through the Literacy Program. Student pay checks are normally deposited directly into their banking account unless arrangements are made with the Business Office for these funds to be directly submitted to the student's Business Office account (toward current balance).
Note: Work Agreements and Time Sheets may only be obtained through the Office of Financial Aid. Generally, students may only work up to 20 hrs a week at the current minimum wage of $5.85 per hr. Time sheets are due on the 15th and last day of the month. International students are able to participate in the Institutional Work-Study program as long as their aid plus earnings does not exceed their total budget.
Documents Required to obtain a Work-Study Position
