NEXT STEPS

 

Once you have accepted to Wayland, you will receive a Permit to Enter in the mail. Your permit to enter could have conditions for entry. If you have any conditions that require extra information or paperwork, please get these to the appropriate person as soon as possible.

Next, you will need to start working on your financial aid paperwork.

Step 1) Complete the 07-08 FAFSA on the web @ www.fafsa.ed.gov
Step 2) Go to the financial aid web site and complete and submit the following:

  • • 07-08 Institutional Application for Financial Aid
    • Verification Worksheet
    • Texas Core Residency Questionnaire (if first time student @ WBU and TX resident) In addition to the above listed documents you will be required to submit the following:
    • Parent's signed 2007 tax returns and W2s (if determined by the FAFSA as a Dependent)
    • Student's signed 2007 tax returns and W2s
    Or if either parents or students were not required to file the 2007 return and had any income,
    • Non-Filer Certification (available at the above mentioned website)
    • Student/Parent W2
    Be sure to check your e-mail regularly for any questions regarding the verification process or Award Letters.

Next, you will need to choose your residence hall, fill out an application, and send in your $100.00 deposit. Residence hall rooms will not be assigned until paperwork is completed and your deposit is received.

During the summer of 2008, you and your parents will be asked to participate in Early Registration. This is designed for new and transfer students to ease the transition into the fall semester at Wayland. Early Registration students will have the opportunity to:

  • • Participate in testing to assist in proper course placement
    • Meet faculty advisors and discuss academic plans for the fall semester
    • Meet financial aid advisors and discuss financial aid concerns
    • Complete registration for the fall semester.


Early-Registration dates will be June 14, June 27, and July 26. Look for information the middle of May about early registration. Bring your family and enjoy the Wayland atmosphere.

Koinonia is our freshman orientation that includes students and parents alike. KOINONIA is designed to make your transition to university life a smooth and enjoyable one. The purpose of this unique orientation is to help you feel comfortable, to inform you as you begin your career at WBU, and to establish channels of support you need to succeed. You will have an opportunity to sign up for Koinonia during your early registration.
