School OF RELIGION AND PHILOSOPHY

 

In keeping with the mission of the University, the purposes of the School of Religion and Philosophy are to provide education in religion and philosophy for all students; to provide theological education and training for students interested in ministry; and to provide services to persons, churches, and denominational entities.

GOALS

  1. To provide survey courses in both Old Testament and New Testament for all students. To provide a carefully designed curriculum of pre-seminary training which gives the opportunity for students who major in Religion to qualify for advanced standing graduate degree programs in the seminaries. To provide a theological foundation for persons who plan to enter university graduate programs in Religion. To provide training for those in pastoral, missions, and youth ministries whose Wayland degree will be their terminal formal training.
  2. To offer the services of School faculty and students in ministry.

 

The School of Religion and Philosophy , chaired by Dr. Paul Sadler, offers programs in religion, religious education, composite religion, pre-christian counseling, double majors in religion and religious education, and minors in Christian leadership, religion, religious education, and philosophy

The School of Religion and Philosophy offers three undergraduate degrees: B.A., BS, and BCM.

The School of Religion and Philosophy offers two master's programs, the MA and MCM. There are many religion classes offered through Virtual Campus, our online program.
