SCHOOL OF MUSIC

WELCOME TO MUSIC AT WAYLAND! We are proud of our 100-year history of providing faith-based music opportunities through the School Dr. Ann Stutesof Music and we want to share our excitement with you. We are busy celebrating our past successes during our Centennial Celebration in 2008-2009 and are passionate about continuing to carry Dr. Wayland’s dream into the next century.

Whether you are a student, graduate, or friend of music, we hope you will enjoy browsing our site and will find answers to questions you may have about our program. Be sure to check the School of Music Calendar and meet our newest faculty members on the Faculty page. We would love hearing from you whether you are beginning the university selection process, connecting with fellow WBU graduates, or asking questions about the various music opportunities available at Wayland.

Our commitment to providing excellent faith-based music training is as strong as our 100-year tradition. This fall we are launching several new degrees to enrich our academic possibilities:

Bachelor of Music in Church Music
Bachelor of Music in Music Education

Bachelor of Music in Performance
(Instrumental, Keyboard, and Vocal)
Bachelor of Arts in Music with emphasis in:
General Music
Theory/Composition
Music Industry
Church Music and Worship

Whether we meet you in the classroom or in the concert hall, we look forward to sharing many moments of beauty with you as we begin to set the stage for the next 100 years.

Peace,

Dr. Ann B. Stutes – Dean, School of Music
