Our Welch Departmental Grant was given an automatic extension through 2012-2013. This means that our undergraduate program for Chemistry research will be supported by another $25,000 for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Supervised by Dr. Gary Gray and Dr. Adam Reinhart, we had four students working over the past summer, including Trevor Burrow, Libby Saultz, Jenna Wilson and Stephanie Whitaker. Each of the students were selected by competitive application. They worked for 8-weeks (June & July) each receiving a $3,000 fellowship, free room and board, and 3-hours free tuition (Undergrad research course credit). Also, Dr. Gray's research team is scheduled to give a research seminar presentation on their work at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30 in the Moody Science Auditorium (MSB 110).
