Annual Spanish Study tour opportunity

May Micro 2009 - Spanish Study Tour to glorious Costa Rica.   Students were immersed in the language and culture while they learned intermediate Spanish worth six (6) credit hours. 

The trip was an overwhelming success!  Photos show students learning the Spanish language while living in the Costa Rican culture and sharing English with the community they embraced.  Additional information about the most recent trip can be found at: Costa Rica Study Tour 2009

 


 

Our aim was to gather the creative forces of the Wayland community and represent their unique talents in one document. We consider Embers our Centennial Edition.

The Centennial Edition of Embers is now available for purchase ($ 2.00) at the School of Languages and Literature located second floor of Gates Hall.

Embers is a joint effort of the School of Languages and Literature and members of the Eta Theta Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society.

We give grateful thanks to the Plainview Cultural Arts Council for their grant support of this project.

Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honor Society. A member of the Association of College Honor Societies, it was founded in 1924 at Dakota Wesleyan University.

The Society strives to

  • Confer distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies;
  • Provide, through its local chapters, cultural stimulation on college campuses and promote interest in literature and the English language in surrounding communities;
  • Foster all aspects of the discipline of English, including literature, language, and writing;
  • Promote exemplary character and good fellowship among its members;
  • Exhibit high standards of academic excellence; and
  • Serve society by fostering literacy.
   
 
The Eta Theta Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta is looking forward to the many opportunities to participate in the University's activities and in the community.
