CREDIT BY EXAM FOR LANGUAGEs and Literature

ACT and SAT Examinations - Credit may be allowed for satisfactory scores on the English section of the ACT and SAT examinations.  Students scoring 29 or above on the ACT English section or 620 or above on the SAT I Verbal section will be given credit for ENGL 1301.

Advanced Placement Examinations - Wayland participates with the College Board by granting Advanced Placement (AP) credit when the AP courses and examinations compare favorably with the standards of Wayland and its individual departments.  The chart below indicates the number of credit hours and courses that correspond with each minimum AP examination score.

  • General testing schedule is two days a week, two times each day and you must call to verify which days and times.

  • Walk in to a test session 30 minutes early to pay and register.

  • Two payments are required one to Texas Tech and one to CLEP.  Check, Money Order or Debit/Credit Card ONLY.  Fees are non-refundable.

  • Two forms of ID are required (One must be official government ID).

  • If wishing to take another subject area of the CLEP exam, please call to for specific details.
