EDUCATION INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY COURSES


EDIT 2310. Computers in the Classroom - Basic skill-building in the use of technology related
terms, concepts, data input strategies, ethical practices, search strategies, efficient use of
electronic information, problem-solving and communication using technology applications in
the classroom. Course content based upon the state and national essential knowledge and skills. Software applications used will be Microsoft Windows Accessories, Microsoft Word, ExCel, PowerPoint, Access and Internet Explorer. $50 fee.

EDIT 4310. Technology Tools for Instruction - This course will train instructors and educators
on the use of Microsoft® Office suite programs creatively and effectively as an instructional
tool. Prerequisites: Basic competency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and multimedia presentation. COSC 2311 or EDIT 2310.

EDIT 4311. Multimedia and Video Technology - Introductory skill-building in how to use
and teach multimedia and video technology to instruct, solve problems and communicate.
Course content based upon the state and national essential knowledge and skills. The course
provides an overview of innovative applications of those technologies in various educational
settings with emphasis on digital technology and multimedia. $50 fee.

EDIT 4330. Portfolio Development and Technology Integration - The student will develop
a professional teaching portfolio for the purpose of communicating their teaching effectiveness
and professional accomplishments. The electronic portfolio will include a showcase presentation for use in seeking initial employment and to enhance the job search and interview process. This course also examines and analyzes the use of the computer in the classroom and its potential for impacting the learning environment. Curriculum development and design integrating the state curriculum and assessment standards will be practiced and artifacts from the practice will be included in the electronic portfolio. Current issues in educational technology will also be explored.

EDIT 4332. Integrating Technology into the Curriculum - Introduction of how to plan,
organize, deliver and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of
current technology for teaching and integrating state and national essential knowledge skills
into the curriculum. Software used will be Microsoft Windows Accessories, Word, ExCel,
PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer. Prerequisite: COSC 2311 or documented knowledge in
computers not to exceed five years, or EDIT 2310; and EDUC 3302. $50 fee.

EDIT 4340. Desktop Publishing and Digital Graphics - Introductory skill-building in how
to use and teach desktop publishing and digital graphics to instruct, solve problems and communicate. Course content based upon the state and national essential knowledge skills.
Prerequisite: COSC 2311 or EDIT 2310. $50 fee.

EDIT 5310. Microcomputer Applications - Microcomputer utilization in education for management\ and integration into instruction through advanced use of integrated software packages, graphics, desktop publishing, the Internet, multimedia, and electronic presentations. Topics also include computer-assisted instruction, computer-managed instruction, and the acquisition of hardware and software. $50 fee.

EDIT 5340. Advanced Desktop Publishing and Digital Graphics - Advanced skill building
in how to use and teach desktop and digital graphics to instruct, solve problems, and communicate. Course content is based upon the state and national essential knowledge skills. $50 fee.

EDIT 5341 Computer Networking and Data Management - skills in establishing a computer
network, hardware and software for the computer network and troubleshooting the network.
Prerequisite: six hours of computer courses.

EDIT 5342. Integration of Technology into the Curriculum and Portfolio Development -
Advanced course in how to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for all students that
incorporates the effective use if current technology for teaching and integrating state and
national Essential Knowledge and Skills into the curriculum. Software used will be Microsoft
Windows Accessories, Microsoft Word, Microsoft EXCEL, Microsoft PowerPoint and Internet
Explorer.

EDIT 5343. Web Mastering - Advanced skill-building in how to use and teach web
mastering to instruct, solve problems and communicate. Course content based upon national
Essential Knowledge and Skills. Software applications used will be Microsoft Windows
Accessories, Microsoft Word, Microsoft ExCEL, Microsoft Powerpoint, Internet Explorer and
Microsoft Frontpage. $50 fee.

EDIT 5344. Advanced Multimedia and Video Technology - Advanced skill-building in how
to use and teach multimedia and video technology to instruct, solve problems and communicate. Course content based upon the state and national Essential Knowledge and Skills. Software applications used will be Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop. $50 fee.
