II.C.1. Teaching online courses
The primary responsibility of the Virtual Campus staff is towards those faculty who teach online courses. Under normal circumstances, instructors may be considered for teaching online courses only after having taught on one of Wayland's physical campuses. Online faculty must be qualified to teach individual courses as indicated by records kept in the Executive Vice President's office prior to being assigned courses. The Director of the Virtual Campus will use the input from student evaluations, Academic Chairs, External Campus Deans, and personal interviews with faculty to plan teaching assignments. Potential online teachers must successfully complete the Virtual Campus Faculty Orientation prior to teaching their first WBU class online.
