II.B.2. Teaching Loads of Faculty on an External Campus
Because many of the Virtual Campus instructors also teach on an external campus, the Director of the Virtual Campus must schedule courses in a way that neither hinders the offering of those courses on the external campuses nor makes the instructors unavailable for teaching on the physical campus. Full-time faculty are allowed one overload course per term; adjunct faculty may teach no more than two courses per term. Courses taught on the Virtual Campus must be taken into account when determining these course loads. It is therefore vital that the Director of the Virtual Campus provide to the external campus Deans a rotation of courses and a tentative schedule of the next term's courses. For each faculty member asked to teach online who is a part of an external campus staff, the Director must verify course loads with the appropriate Dean.
