Online Master Of Business Administration

Offered online through the School of Business, the MBA offers the specializations of General Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Human Resource Management, Management, and Management Information Systems.  The degree can be accomplished in a totally on-line environment.  Totally online students in this program will be affiliated with and advised by Dr. Otto B. Schacht, Dean of the School of Business  and faculty at the Plainview campus.

Objectives of the M.B.A. program:

  1. To provide the theory, principles, and knowledge required for effective management in today's dynamic environment.
  2. To develop techniques for basing decision and action on careful analyses of pertinent data.
  3. To develop a philosophy of responsible leadership and an appreciation of business ethics.

The M.B.A. program consists of thirty-six (36) semester hours of core courses and nine semester hours of graduate business courses in the selected area of specialization with the consent of the advisor. When a course is taken without having the specified prerequisite, equivalent additional hours will be added to the program. Graduate core courses cannot be taken directed study. With proper documentation, up to twelve (12) hours of graduate business course credit may be awarded toward the M.B.A. degree requirements from successful completion and official documentation of Intermediate and/or Senior Education Levels of the Military Services of the United States of America.

Admission Requirements

Prospective students must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Any leveling courses which may be required to correct deficiencies must be completed prior to the student's enrollment in a course for which leveling work is a prerequisite.

Students desiring to enter the graduate program must submit the following documents:

  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Non-refundable application fee of $50 (current and past WBU students are excused from this fee)
  • Official transcripts from each institution previously attended

The Virtual Campus makes available online all the general information needed by students of the Degree Program Online.
