Master of Arts in Management

Offered online through a 37-hour program in the School of Business, the MAM with a specialization in Human Resource Management can be completed in 18 months. The program is designed for students new to Wayland and all courses required for the degree are available online. Students enrolling in the program will be assigned to a cohort of 20 students who will proceed through the program as a group.

The Master of Arts in Management is designed for individuals who are currently in management positions and it prepares students for the challenges of management in the 21st century. The degree focuses on developing leadership, communications, and interpersonal skills, and the freedom to accomplish tasks, set goals, and develop relationships necessary for professional development.

Prospective students must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Any leveling courses which may be required to correct deficiencies must be completed prior to the student's enrollment in a course for which leveling work is a prerequisite. All leveling courses must have a grade of "B" or better. Prospective students are expected to present evidence by transcript or examination that the following courses have been completed:
MISM 3303 - Information Systems Theory and Practice
MGMT 3304 - Principles of Management
MGMT3324 - Human Resource Management

Students desiring to enter the graduate program must submit the following documents:
  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Non-refundable application fee of $35 (current and past WBU students are excused from this fee)
  • Official transcripts from each institution previously attended
  • Grade point average of 3.00 or better on last 60 semester hours
